Henchu caters the celebrations that sit between a quiet family dinner and a full wedding. Naming ceremonies and the cradle ceremony, grihapravesha housewarmings, first birthdays and milestone birthdays, anniversaries, upanayana thread ceremonies, retirements and reunions. We also cook for the festival calendar, Ugadi, Navaratri, Deepavali and Sankranti, when a home feast is the whole point of the day. Our festival catering brings those seasonal menus to your own gathering, whenever it falls in the year.
Each occasion has its own rhythm, and the menu follows it. A naming ceremony leans sweet and auspicious, a housewarming runs to a generous lunch, a birthday is livelier with live counters. We shape the spread to the moment, not the other way round.
So whether it is naming ceremony (namakarana) catering for a newborn or baby shower (seemantha) catering for an expectant mother, the menu is built around the ritual and the people at its centre.
What is included
You get a full menu built around your occasion, a buffet or banana-leaf sit-down service, live counters for dosa, chaat or filter coffee, and the staff to run it. We bring serving vessels, set the layout, and clear at the end, so the hosts are free to be with their guests. Sweet platters and festival-special savouries, holige at Ugadi, mixture and ladoos at Deepavali, are folded into the menu where they belong.
Most occasion orders serve between thirty and three hundred guests, and we scale smoothly within that range, intimate enough for a family, robust enough for a large colony gathering. Housewarming (gruhapravesha) catering tends toward a generous banana-leaf lunch, while birthday party catering leans into live counters and a sweet platter for younger guests.
How it works, and where
Tell us the occasion, the date, the guest count and any family preferences. We send a proposed menu and a quote, and invite you for a tasting at our Malleshwaram kitchen. On the day we arrive early, cook fresh, and manage service from start to finish.
Henchu operates from GM Rejoyz, Malleshwaram, and we cater across Bengaluru, travelling to apartments, community halls, homes and rooftops. If you would rather not arrange a venue, our four halls and auditorium at GM Rejoyz can host the occasion with the kitchen a few steps away.
