Mathikere is a campus with a neighbourhood attached. The MS Ramaiah institutions spread across its south side, hospital, engineering college, management blocks, drawing patients, students and staff from across the city every day. Around the campus the streets are given over to that crowd: PGs for boys and girls, photocopy shops, juice stalls, mess halls with hand-painted boards, and staff quarters with washing on the line. Between the institutional grid and the railway line on the north, older family homes hold their ground. Nothing here is more than ten minutes from our own kitchen, which changes what is possible on short notice.
Students, hostels and long-settled families share the same streets, so the catering swings between college functions and quiet family occasions. Short notice is common here, and being this close to the kitchen makes that workable.
College fest days and department celebrations, where hundreds of students eat between events. Staff lunches at the hospital and colleges, hostel day meals and farewell dinners for final years. On the family side, quiet house functions, naming ceremonies, small upanayanas, and memorial meals, often decided on with only a few days in hand.
For a fest or hostel day we would suggest Masala Idli and Vegetable Sagu, which serve a queue fast and hold well for second helpings, with Curd Rice always available for the south Indian appetite and Carrot Halwa in cups for the sweet. For hospital staff lunches we pack the same food in boxes, labelled and counted.
We are barely ten minutes away past MS Ramaiah, so a top-up run mid-function costs nothing in freshness. Campus gates need passes and a department contact, which we sort with your office when booking. Hostel dining rooms have their own tables and water, and the PG lanes are walkable from the main road if the van has to stand at the gate.

How much notice do you need for a Mathikere function? Less than almost anywhere else, because you are ten minutes from our kitchen. A couple of days is comfortable for a family function, and next-day orders are often possible for smaller counts. Campus events with gate passes need the paperwork started earlier than the food does.

We serve fest crowds in batches matched to the event schedule, veg and Jain counters labelled separately, and we can refill through the day since the kitchen is close.
